    This custom brick and stone wall retainings the slope behind it but also creates a sitting wall around the concrete and turf patio. The brick firepit provides a place to watch the stars over the Cascade Mountains.

    This clean and simple Craftsman style home invites you to the front door with low pitched roofs, a curved entry beam, no corner boards and custom designed window grids.

    The low pitched Tongue & Groove ceiling is warm and inviting in this great room. The bowed window looking into the back yard matches the curve of the beams at the entry and off the rear of the house, pulling details through the entire home.

    One of our award winning designs, taking "Best Landscape" and "Best Feature" in the 2008 COBA Tour of Homes. The pond boasts a double sided water feature that gurgles down into the water, the pond has a sandy beach - a great place for the kids to play all summer! The paver patio in the foreground turned an excavated rock wall into a beautiful place to enjoy the outdoors.

  • Downtown Classic with Wrap Around Front Porch

    This classic designed home was designed to blend into an old established riverfront neighborhood. We wanted to keep the large trees and maintain the integrity of the surrounding homes. The front porch brings the residents out with their neighbors, the windows frame the views of the large trees and the lines give it a timeless feel.

    This Tuscan home sits into the existing grade, made to meld seamlessly with the native surrounding site.

    This dining room was designed to be centered on a large Ponderosa Pine in the backyard. The house was designed around the tree, which made it an automatic focal point for this beautiful bank of wood windows.

  • English Tudor Revived (before)

    An early nineteenth centry Tudor style home sits in the perfect location in Downtown Bend. It was small, outdated and overgrown. The owners wanted to know what could be done to increase the size and add modern day conveniences.

    We added a two car garage with a second floor above and finished a full basement, while maintaining the feeling of the original home and neighborhood.

    Behind the overgrown plants hid amazing details that we didn’t want to ignore. There were unused outdoor areas with lots of potential just waiting to have a little life breathed into them.

    Mimicking existing features and leaving heritage details this home looks as though it has always stood proud with it’s additions. Unused outdoor spaces became a part of the ‘living areas’ – the little Tudor gained tasteful useable square footage, inside and out!

    A charming Mother-In-Law house in the backyard of a near hundred year old home on the Deschutes River. This cottage offers endless charm from the lava rock pathway to the carefully planned windows and roof pitches. A perfect place for your guests to feel at home!

    The clerestory in this home boasts curved trusses and a trussel offering endless opportunity for detail and craftsmanship. The detail and thought that went into this one element in this home showcases our creative ideas in a subtle way.

    An unused outdoor space that was stark and dingy left the homeowners using this patio for storage. The problem is that this patio is viewed from multiple rooms within the house, it really didn’t offer anything positive on the outside or from the inside.

    An added tiered stucco fireplace warms your feet and offers a place for conversation. When viewed from any of the rooms inside of the home, it gives the homeowner a reason to leave the blinds open!

    A classic kitchen centered on a copper island which will patina and add warmth and beauty as it ages. The windows look out to the a view of the Cascade Mountains while letting light flow into the space.

    Massive curved timber beams, log posts and stone make this a handsome home. The timber trusses are repeated through the house through the great room and on out to the back deck. What a great place to curl up with a warm drink and watch the fire!

    This home was missing an adequate area to place a large table for entertaining. The outdoor kitchen and firepit went unused as they were not inviting and were surrounded by old turf that no one used.

    We took the turf area out to make the existing outdoor kitchen a destination and entertaining area. We expanded the paver patio, re-arranged planting beds, added patio containers to make the space a place to hang out and stay awhile.

    This water feature is the head of the “Best Feature” from COBA’s 2008 Tour of Homes. Native plantings blend the pond in to the surroundings so that it requires less maintenance, appears to be a permanent part of the landscape and blends in nicely with the view of the Cascade Mountains.
